Irish whiskey royalty has no place in Northern California, but that isn’t going to stop Iain Brennan, the black sheep of Brennan Family Distillers, from giving it a shot. Wine Country is an unlikely place to launch a whiskey empire, but Iain’s just reckless enough to make it work. And being out from under the watchful eye of his disapproving father back home in Dublin? Even better.

Naomi Klein has spent the last ten years ignoring her society family as much as possible while building a career as a renowned sculptor. She’s found a home in River Hill, but has no interest in dipping her toes into the commitment pool. Just the idea of forever gives her hives. Which makes a rootless Irish wanderer the perfect fling. And shocking her mother? Just a bonus.

But as cozy autumn nights turn into lazy winter mornings, Naomi and Iain realize that they’re getting close to something neither of them wants: love. When Naomi discovers Iain’s not quite as rootless as he seems, she’ll have to make some tough decisions. And when the Brennans and the Kleins descend en masse to collect their prodigal children, River Hill may never be the same.

REVIEW – This is the first book i have read by this author duo. It was a sweet romance story and had the most idyllic setting it sounded so lovely. Set at my fave time of year – Autumn, and with two characters who would never normally look at each other or focus on the idea of romance. But the romance that grows is sweet and fun and though not my normal type of book to read was very enjoyable.

St Caroline #1

Book 1 in the St. Caroline Series
A sweet summer romance set on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay

A wealthy heir called back home by family duty …

The town of St. Caroline had never felt like home to Sterling Matthew. Even though the Matthew family could date their residence back nearly a hundred years, Sterling had grown up in boarding schools—and promptly decamped for the ski slopes of Europe after college.

When his father falls ill, his mother calls him home to run the family business, the renowned Chesapeake Inn. What Sterling finds, though, is a business on shaky financial footing and a staff resistant to the radical changes he has to make. No matter. He’ll do what needs to be done … and then leave St. Caroline for good.

A woman who’s pulled herself up by the bootstraps …

For years, Lucy Wyndham wondered whether she’d ever catch another glimpse of the boy she’d crushed on at the Chesapeake Inn’s summer camp for disadvantaged kids. He’d been tall and quiet. Mysterious and aloof. And the owner’s son. Now he’s her boss and the attraction is just as strong—but they’re no more compatible today than they were as teenagers. When he informs her that the camp must be eliminated to improve the resort’s bottom line, she embarks on an ambitious campaign to save it. Even if the price is her job … and her heart.
Summer Again was previously published as Falling for the Prodigal Son.

Review – A very sweet romance story, a summer read over a weekend for me. I enjoyed the story  i just found it a bit too sweet for me, i like more grit in the romance side for myself. I did enjoy the look at the past of the two main characters. So it was great to see the two sides to the romance developing from past to now. Worth a read if you like a story that is sweet and takes you away to a location that is idylic sounding

Review – I loved this book, it totally gave me the feels. It is oh so sweet and romantic, i mean the boy you promised you would marry when you are a child comes back as an adult on your 30th birthday to marry you. But it is also so very funny and sexy this story, i was smiling through the story. Well worth a read, this book certainly helped cheer me up from my book funk and gave me that lighter read i needed, but even though it is lighter it is still so very romantic and sexy as well 🙂

Legal Briefs #3.5
Emma Chase
24th April 2016

Join Jake & Chelsea, Stanton & Sofia, Brent & Kennedy as they navigate the hilarious and heartwarming hurdles of love, life and the law in this final addition to the Legal Briefs Series.

There was a time when Jake Becker had it all together. He was controlled, driven, ruthless—in and out of the courtroom.

Then, six irresistible orphans and their heartbreakingly beautiful aunt crashed into his perfectly ordered life. They changed everything. They changed him. Now he’s a husband, an upstanding member of society, a father figure—a family man.
And he’s pretty damn good at it.

Sure, he has to referee sibling smackdowns, re-learn algebra, ensure his clients stay of jail, and keep his wife happy—but it finally feels like he’s got it together again….
So, of course something has to screw it all up.

It’s huge. Life-changing. Kind of terrifying.

And it will be the most amazing, perfect thing he’ll ever do.

Review – I loved this novella, it was sweet, funny and romantic and it was great to see all the characters as a family together. This novella has the usual whip smart dialogue of Emma Chase i have come to love and just the right dose of tension as to what will happen concerning the characters. But in addition to all this there is something bigger, there is a lot of emotion in this story concerning Jake and Chelsea. We are privy to some intimate moments in their time together that will have you heart swelling and emotions rising to the surface. A fantastic novella, as usual a huge well done to Emma Chase for constructing a great story.
