I was upgraded to first class on a flight from London to New York.

The food, champagne, and service were impeccable.

The blue-eyed man sitting next to me, even better.

He was suave and intelligent.

We talked and laughed, and something clicked.

Fate took over and the plane was grounded, and we had an unexpected stopover for the night.

With no plans, we made our own.

We danced and laughed our way around Boston and had a night of crazy passion that no woman would ever forget.

That was twelve months ago, and I haven’t heard from him—until today.

I started a new job and met the CEO. You can imagine my surprise to see those naughty blue eyes dance with delight when he saw me across the mahogany desk.

But I’m not that carefree girl anymore. My life has changed, I have responsibilities.

I just got an email.

He wants to see me in his office for a private meeting at 8:00 a.m.

Naughty blue eyes have no place in the workplace.

What kind of private meeting does he have in mind?

REVIEW – A truly gripping romance story that i could not put down. This book meant a lot to me as it also helped pull me out of a serious book funk, the writing and story flowed smoothly, the characters are engaging and the romance was off the scale- both hot but heartfelt at just the right points in the story. First in a new series i cannot wait to read more of, oh and i love the brooding man on the cover on the book it sums up the lead male really well.

The Initiation, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by USA Today bestselling author Nikki Sloane.

No one knows how new members are selected to the board of Hale Banking and Holding. But there are rumors of a sordid rite of initiation.

Whispers how one woman and nine men disappear into a boardroom.

This time, that woman will be me.

The Hale family owns everything—the eighth largest bank in the world, everyone in our town, even the mortgage on my parents’ mansion. And now Royce Hale wants to own me.

He is charming. Seductive. Ruthless. But above all, he’s the prince of lies. My body may tighten with white-hot desire under his penetrating gaze, but I refuse to enjoy it.

I’ll make a deal with the devil to save my family and sell myself to the Hales. But Royce will never own my heart.

REVIEW – What have i just read?!?! This book takes you on and sexy but also demanding ride. Demanding because i read the book feeling the only character i trusted was Marist everyone else i began to feel uneasy with as it was hard at times to judge their motives. But you now what i liked this also because it kept me intrigued and on my toes. The sexy and erotic scenes where jaw dropping, I have read other Nikki Sloane books and wow!! she certainly knows how to make you hot under the collar but also debate how far the characters will go in their desires for themselves but desires to succeed. The ending of this book was like noooo!! i could not believe it and now i am eagerly awaiting book 2

Excerpt:

Every pair of eyes in the restaurant was on us as we were led to our table for dinner.

Probably not every pair, but God, it felt that way.

“Is it just me,” I asked over the top of my menu, “or is everyone staring at us?”

Royce was indifferent. “They’re staring at you.”

His statement rattled me. “Why?”

“Because you’re here with me.” His gaze never lifted to mine, like he couldn’t be

bothered. “Or more likely, because you’re fucking gorgeous. Who knows?”

Breath halted in my lungs. “You can’t just say shit like that.”

The leather-bound menu holder dropped onto the table with a thud, and I was met with the full power of Royce’s irritated stare. “That you’re beautiful? You are. Get over it.”

Dismay twisted my lips into a frown. “Please, don’t. I don’t need bullshit lines from

someone like you.”

“It’s not a line, and . . . someone like me?” More annoyance darted through his eyes, but intrigue too. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

How was I going to put it into words? “You’re a ‘haver.’ I mean, you could have any

woman in this room if you wanted, and probably some of the guys too. You’re young, hot, and filthy rich.”

His irritation vanished. It was replaced with an arrogant expression that said none of this was news to him. I pushed forward, gathering steam.

“Me?” I said. “I’m a ‘have-not.’ I’m sure you didn’t intend for it to happen, but when you said I was a nobody, you made it true. No one will touch me.”

“I touched you.”

He was immune to my scorching glare. “You wanted to know why I was still a virgin last year. Well, there’s your answer. You’re the reason, Royce. Nobody would be caught dead with me.”

He considered the accusation I’d lobbed at him. “You’re wrong,” he said finally. “I was

aware what was going to happen. It’s exactly why I said it.”

My head turned into a void. “What?”

He leaned over the table to ensure he had my full attention. “I saw you at the bar with

your sister that night. You were swaying to the music, all happy, and pretty, and it pissed me off.

My father had already laid out plans for me. I was supposed to be with Emily, but that wasn’t what I wanted.”

I clenched the menu in my hands. I sensed where he was going, but I couldn’t wrap my head around it. My heart chugged along, thumping loudly in my ears.

“So, yeah. I knew you were behind me when I called you a nobody. I did it on purpose,

because I couldn’t stand you with anyone else. I wanted you for myself.”

“Oh, my God.” My body flushed hot, although I didn’t know if it was with anger or

excitement, or a deadly combination of the two.

Pucked Love, the final sexy and emotional standalone in the NYT bestselling Pucked Series from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting, is LIVE!

PUCKEDLOVE_full_trim (1).jpg

As an NHL player, relationships haven’t been my thing. Shrouded in secrecy and speculation, they never last very long. But then that’s what happens when you require an NDA before the first date.

Until Charlene. She’s like a firefly. She’s elusive, and if you catch her she’ll burn bright, but keeping her trapped dulls her fire and dims her beauty.

I caught her. And as much as I might want to keep her, I’ll never put the lid on her jar. Not at the risk of losing her. So I’ve let her set the rules in our relationship.

But as long hidden secrets expose us both, I discover exactly how fragile Charlene is, and how much I need her.

We’re all broken. We’re all messed up. Some more than others. Me more than most.

REVIEW – This author and this series have been an absolute joy to read, very funny, romantic, sexy and now this final book in the series. I was not sure if my heart could take it and it very nearly did not. This story is about trust and loyalty and living by yourself both physically and emotionally and how you can let someone in if you try hard enough. Charlene is amazing a successful single woman who from the get go of the story stands her ground against the enigmatic Darren. But secrets and trust do not always make it easy for a relationship to grow and it was interesting to see how Helena tackled this issue of trust and most importantly family. This book shows you family is who you choose and not who your are born into, while being about opening up and also being very sexy and romantic along with the usual humorous moments. A fabulous ending to an outstanding series and as always she has created a fabulous looking paperback that i will be purchasing at some point in the future for my collection.

Trailer Park Heart – Rachel Higginson

Trailer Park Heart Book Cover

Trailer Park Heart

Rachel Higginson

23rd October 2018

Trailer park born and raised. It’s my legacy. That’s how my mama lived. And that’s how her mama lived. It’s the life I was born into and it’s the life I swore I would leave the second I was old enough to make it out.

Only legacies have a funny way of sneaking up on you. An innocent decision the night of high school graduation led to a series of complications in my plans to escape.

Seven years later, I’ve resigned myself to this small town and the roots I’m tied to. Nothing could make me leave. And nothing could make me spill the secrets that keep me here.

Until he walks back into town with a chip on his shoulder and a stupid hunch nobody else in town has been smart enough to follow.

Levi Cole is my opposite. Born on the right side of the tracks with family money to spare, he’s the kind of black sheep that can afford to be rebellious—because his family will always pay for his mistakes. He’s also the only living heir to Cole Family Farms, after his brother Logan was killed in duty seven years ago.

He sees something in my life that he thinks he has a right to. But he’s wrong. And obnoxious. And he needs to take his stubborn good looks and that intense way he looks at me and go back to wherever it was he came from.

I know better than to trust men like him. I was born and raised in a trailer park, I know nothing good happens to girls like me—girls with trailer park lives and trailer park hearts. Especially from gorgeous, kind, pigheaded men like him.

REVIEW – I want to say this is a second chance romance story, but did Ruby and Levi ever really get a first chance? A story of romance over time, with barriers that are great and could shatter either characters existence. Ruby is a strong and fierce character who survives very well, Levi is an engima to some degree, i was never sure which way he would go at the start of their story but i loved the way he developed. A romance story that is powerful and heartfelt but also about perseverance in life, and also i like this touch – that sometimes people do not grow out of their high school clique and persona but some do 🙂 Had such a blast reading this book

Teaser:

Rolling my eyes, I waved him off. Honestly that was a tamer word than usual. And Max was unfortunately used to grownups saying words he wasn’t supposed to hear by now. “I’ll tell you later, okay? Why don’t you go find a great big stick and let Mommy talk to the scary man.”

Max tilted his head at Levi. “I don’t think he’s scary.”
”Ha! Looks can be deceiving,” I mumbled to no one in particular. “Go on, babe. Find a stick.” He looked up at me like I’d grown a second head. “Then what?”
”Then… then whack that cornstalk with it.”
”Why?”
”Because it needs to be whacked.”
”Why?”
Levi walked closer. “Just pretend it’s Darth Vader and you’re on a mission to save the

galaxy.”
Max’s attention swung back to Levi. “Who’s Dark Faber?”

“Who’s Darth Vader?” Levi repeated, stunned. “What do you mean, who’s Darth Vader?” To me he said. “What kind of parent are you? He doesn’t know who Darth Vader is?”

“He’s six,” I reminded him patiently.

“Exactly the right age to know about the glory that is Star Wars. You’re depriving him of a fantastic childhood.”

“Are you seriously giving me parenting advice right now?”
He leaned forward. “Are you seriously considering passing it up? It’s good advice.”
A frustrated growl rumbled in the back of my throat. Max, getting bored with our back and

forth, wandered off to whack the cornstalk. Levi and I watched him in silence for a minute. Eventually, curiosity got the better of me. “What are you doing here, Levi? Why are you in

my neck of the woods?”
He shrugged, and that damnable smile was back. “I feel bad about the other day… about the

gas station.”
I couldn’t let him get away with his behavior then nor now. Or the questions he was hell bent

on asking. Or the sheepish, repentant smile he was wielding like a weapon. “You have no right to stick your nose in my business, Cole.”

He shrugged. “I’m trying to say I’m sorry.”

It wasn’t exactly a promise to leave me alone, but Levi didn’t usually give me what I wanted. This was probably the best I could ask for, and yet, I couldn’t let him get away that easily. I lifted a hand, half hidden in the sleeve of my shirt, and pointed a finger at him. “You can mess with me, Levi, but you better not hurt my son. Got it?”

He took a step forward, closing some of the space between us. “Just to be clear though, you’re saying I can mess with you, right?”

Bad Boy Brody – Tijan

Bad Boy Brody Book Cover

Bad Boy Brody

Tijan

6th May 2018

One punch took him from Hollywood’s Golden Boy to Bad Boy Brody.

The media didn’t care he was grieving his brother’s death. They descended on him, but to change his reputation, his manager got him a deal.

Act in an indie film, one that already had Oscar buzz, and he’d get the movie roles he needed to secure his future.

He took the deal.

Yet he wasn’t prepared for the real-life people behind the script. He wasn’t prepared for the murder the movie was based on. And he really wasn’t prepared for her, the biggest secret of all.

She was wild. She was beautiful. She defied gravity.

But was she the leading role that would tame him?

REVIEW – I am a big fan of Tijan her writing just draws you deeply into the story and has you hooked. This book is filled with secrets, romance and the bad boy you know you should not like but also he manages to sneak into your heart when reading the story. Great book to start with if you have never read this author, and for the fans well worth a read
