Lora Leigh & Veronica Chadwick

29th January 2019

First in a brand-new series from #1 New York Times bestselling author Lora Leigh and Veronica Chadwick about one man’s pursuit of justice—and unbridled desire.

For as long as Samantha can remember, Hunter—a man as strong as steel, with a heart of gold—has been her hero. It came as no surprise to Samantha when she found out that the ranch-hardened cowboy who always protected her from bullies went on to become the town’s sheriff. What does surprise her is how incredibly hot he still is. And how much she still wants him…

And, lo and behold, Hunter still has feelings for Samantha. The long-smoldering heat of their innocent flirtation has grown into a full-raging fire. But when tragedy strikes, and their small-town community is shattered, Hunter vows to do everything he can to keep his childhood sweetheart safe. But can Samantha trust that Hunter has her best interests at heart…and that, after all these years, his love is true?

REVIEW – Loved this book, a story of past desires which you thought where one-sided but actually are reciprocated. But who loves a romance that runs smoothly as Hunter and Samantha are both caught up in a set of murders in their sweet little town. Hunter is so hot and i love how protective he was of Samantha in the past and now in the present. I loved the danger element of the story, it added another level of tension between Samantha and Hunter – not just the romantic tension but one of protectiveness and strength in the characters especially alpha Hunter.Very sexy at times and very hot – you have been warned!!

Love Over Duty #2

Former SEAL Malachai “Mac” MacCarrick is all about the future he’s created with his Navy brothers in Eagle Securities, taking assignments in the most dangerous places, and doing things no one but ex-military would attempt. But when an urgent phone call brings his troubled past—and the woman he once loved—into the present, it’s a chance to redeem himself that he can’t refuse.

An investigative journalist researching an explosive story, Delaney Shapiro tells herself she got over Mac—and his role in her brother’s death—a long time ago. But the first moment she sees him at her bedside in an overseas hospital, she knows it’s not true. Every moment together rekindles the desire that once burned between them, and now that she’s a target for an emerging Russian arms dealer, Mac won’t let her out of his sight. To protect her, he’ll risk it all—including his life…

REVIEW – So this story has a lot going on. We have danger and romance, a lost love and a deep seated regret. But still the story flows smoothly and i have t say i loved Mac he is just the right side of alpha with Delaney. Tough and strong when he needs to be and gentle but firm when its called for. Delaney i totally could see how your feelings are all over the place for Mac but let me tell you sometimes you are asking for trouble though i love her independance and brains. Danger and suspense add another level to the story but the thing that gives this story five stars is the reminiscing of the past and learning to leave it behind. Not a need to read the others in the series but if you do you get a greater understanding of some of the secondary characters who are just as interesting to read.

Book 1 in the St. Caroline Series
A sweet summer romance set on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay

A wealthy heir called back home by family duty …

The town of St. Caroline had never felt like home to Sterling Matthew. Even though the Matthew family could date their residence back nearly a hundred years, Sterling had grown up in boarding schools—and promptly decamped for the ski slopes of Europe after college.

When his father falls ill, his mother calls him home to run the family business, the renowned Chesapeake Inn. What Sterling finds, though, is a business on shaky financial footing and a staff resistant to the radical changes he has to make. No matter. He’ll do what needs to be done … and then leave St. Caroline for good.

A woman who’s pulled herself up by the bootstraps …

For years, Lucy Wyndham wondered whether she’d ever catch another glimpse of the boy she’d crushed on at the Chesapeake Inn’s summer camp for disadvantaged kids. He’d been tall and quiet. Mysterious and aloof. And the owner’s son. Now he’s her boss and the attraction is just as strong—but they’re no more compatible today than they were as teenagers. When he informs her that the camp must be eliminated to improve the resort’s bottom line, she embarks on an ambitious campaign to save it. Even if the price is her job … and her heart.
Summer Again was previously published as Falling for the Prodigal Son.

Review – A very sweet romance story, a summer read over a weekend for me. I enjoyed the story  i just found it a bit too sweet for me, i like more grit in the romance side for myself. I did enjoy the look at the past of the two main characters. So it was great to see the two sides to the romance developing from past to now. Worth a read if you like a story that is sweet and takes you away to a location that is idylic sounding

Cheater – Rachel Van Dyken

Curious Liaisons #1

Lucas Thorn wasn’t born a cheater. All it took was a single moment—say, a certain disastrous incident on the night before his wedding—and boom. Reputation destroyed forever and always. So now he owns it. He has a lady friend for every night of the week (except Sundays—God’s day and all), and his rules are simple: No commitments. No exceptions.

But a certain smart-mouthed, strawberry blonde vixen is about to blow that all to hell.

Avery Black has never forgiven Lucas for cheating on her sister. And suddenly being forced to work with him is pretty much a nightmare on steroids. Of course, it does afford her the opportunity to make his life as difficult as possible. But no good revenge scheme comes without payback. Because he didn’t become the Lucas Thorn without learning a few things about women.

Now Avery’s lust for vengeance has turned into, well, lust. And if Lucas stops cheating, it’s definitely not because he’s falling in love…

Review – This book had me smiling, like big out grinning. Lucas is a cheater yes, but the reason why and the way it has altered his life and him are interesting to read. I loved Avery she is so spunky and her hatred for Lucas burns so deep, it leads to some inventive moments in the story. A very fun romance story but with the right amount of angst to not make it too sweet and more interesting to see the story develop. I am intrigued to see if more books are released as i feel there is room for this series to develop.
