The Body Painter – Pepper Winters

The Body Painter Book Cover The Body Painter
Master Of Trickery Duet #1
Pepper Winters
16th August 2019

“Must be slim, able to stand for long periods of time, and be impervious to the cold.”

The headline caught my attention.

“Hours are negotiable, pay is minimal, clothing absolutely forbidden.”

The second line piqued my curiosity.

“Able to hold your bladder and tongue, refrain from opinions or suggestions, and be the perfect living canvas.”

The third made me scowl.

“Other attributes required: non-ticklish, contortionist, and obedient. Must also enjoy being studied while naked in a crowd.”

The fourth made me shudder.

“Call or email ‘YOUR SKIN, HIS CANVAS’ if interested in applying.”

The final made my heart race.

I should’ve kept scrolling past the advertisement.

I should’ve applied for the boring receptionist job at minimum wage.

I should’ve clicked on any other job where I got to keep my clothes on.

But I didn’t.

I applied.

My interview is tomorrow…

REVIEW – Pepper Winters builds deep and intricate stories, and this one is no exception. Part of a duet so don’t expect all the story here but this was a very push and pull romance between the characters and had me feeling a bit overwhelmed with it all. A decent and very intricate story, not my fave book of the authors but the blurb had me enticed and the cover is gorgeous

He never treated me as his mother

Instead, Gavin put me on a pedestal and
loved me harder than I’d ever been loved in my life.

What a summer it was.

Until it all ended—badly.

I was never supposed to see Gavin

That didn’t stop me from thinking
about him every day for ten years.

I knew little about
his life now, just that he
was an entrepreneur living an ocean away.

When a twist of fate had me working again in

time before I might see him again.

But I wasn’t prepared.

What if he hated me?

REVIEW – Oh my gosh, Penelope Ward has wrote an epic romance story spanning years. A romance that never dies but lingers in the background over the years but never stops burning. There is so much romance and angst that comes from this book and it was absolute perfection. This is why i will always pick up a Penelope Ward book. She cocoons you in the story and you do not want to resume daily life, this story and these characters will stay with you a long time after you finish the book. Romantic, sexy and full of longing – perfect summer romance read

Summer Heat – Rachel Van Dyken

Summer Heat Book Cover

Summer Heat

Cruel Summer #1

Rachel Van Dyken

Spoiled Princess is what he used to call me.
We were an inferno of hate and passion wound up with a dash of chaos.

For four years I watched him mow my lawn.
For four years I watched my friends make fun of him.
For four years I hated myself for wanting him, but even more for the way I treated him.

And then I had him.
For one night, we put all labels away and I spent the best night of my life in his arms.
Then the next day, with my secret night under lock and key, I looked the other way while my friends shamed him.

But now the jokes on me, because the scrawny lawn boy who I secretly loved from afar is now the director of Hollywoods most exclusive summer camp.

And I’m on his staff.
Now it’s his turn to punish me.
His turn to make me pay.
His turn to take his revenge after years of humiliation.

He’s no longer a boy you can ridicule.
But a college graduate who can have any woman he wants.
I want him to look at me the way he did that one night we had together, but right now
the look in his eyes tells me he’s going to enjoy having me under him for two straight months.
I don’t know where his hatred ends, his passion begins.
All I know is he wants revenge.
And I’m his lucky target.

REVIEW – Loved it so much!! A hot summer read about a second chance at romance if the desire for revenge is not too strong. This book takes sexy and angst to a new level in Rachel’s writing for me. I could not put this book down. I am a sucker for a second chance romance but this one gives added heat and desire as the gulf between the characters is so great to overcome. I cannot wait for book 2 as this book does end on a cliff-hanger, and also i love the cover. Superb summer read while lounging in sun and relaxing it will certainly raise your temperature 🙂

the room at her cousin’s wedding. When he approaches the beautiful woman, she
captivates him with her shyness and wit, making him crave her.
With a pull so strong it’s impossible to ignore, December knows there’s
something between her and Gareth. She just hopes they’re capable of jumping the
hurdles ahead of them.
Two boys, an ex, a surprise that will change everything, and a
disgruntled co-worker, guarantee these two will have their work cut out for
them if they are going to find their happily ever after.
REVIEW – I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever, but oh my it was worth the wait. Aurora knows how to write sexy romances with some angst thrown in and some alpha males to get you swooning hard Now don’t get me wrong sometimes alpha males can be so annoying, but with this book it is just the perfect blend of alpha and emotions. These books feature characters who we have seen before and some new ones, but it can be read as a standalone. For me i just flew through this book as it was exactly what i needed to read and it flowed really well. Great writing and great series

Shakespeare believed there was always humor in tragedy and

My son’s jokes.
The fire alarm going off each time I cook.
My constant bright spot always adding to the humor was my
son, Hayden. But when Hayden had a life-threatening allergic reaction, the man
who came to help my little boy became my own savior. His laugh, his smile, and
the way his eyes lit up when he spoke to my son made him a beacon of light in
both our lives.
But I wasn’t the only one who noticed him.
When I began having feelings for the man my best and only
friend had fallen for, I knew following my heart would once again lead to a fresh
round of heartbreak.
Love led me to this town.
Lies kept me there.
Would history repeat itself?

Or had life just thrown me another Curveball?

Review – Holy moly seriously amazing sounding blurb and a book that delivers. A angst filled contemporary romance that had my heart aching and soaring with each chapter. So much depth and emotion is felt between the two central characters. But to fall for someone so much, while your best friend also has an attraction to them can only lead to something exciting to read and this book certainly was that. A great book to start with if this author is new to you,or you have already know her work

“I don’t watch TV at night…” Her voice drifts off, and I know it’s because she realizes I’m going to ask why.And I do.

“You’re going to laugh.”

“It’s because I can’t hear things.”

“What kinds of things are you trying to hear?”

“I don’t know. Strange noises and things…”

“Strange noises?”

“Do I need to spell it out for you?” She’s trying to sound annoyed, but I can hear the smile in her voice.

“Apparently, because I have no idea what you’re talking about. What kinds of strange noises are you going to hear? I usually turn my TV up to block out all the strange sounds like the neighbor’s kids and the lady behind me that sounds like Fran fucking Drescher.”

“You know who Fran Drescher is?”

“My mother was a big fan of that stupid show she was in. Stop changing the subject. What are you listening for? Hayden won’t sneak out.”

“What if someone breaks in?”

“You’re not serious.”

“Of course I’m serious!”

“What do you do all night?” I ask.

“Work,” she admits. “Well, usually I clean, and then I work.”

“I’m coming over.”

“You can’t.”

The panic in her voice doesn’t make her sound upset about the idea, but afraid.

Is it because she likes me?

“Why not?” I ask.

“It’s like nine o’clock.”

“Are you about to turn orange and sprout a stem?”

“That and I’m not wearing a bra, if you must know.”

“So put it back on.”

“You don’t understand. That’s like saying put your jeans back on.”

“I am in jeans,” I lie just to get a reaction out of her.

“What is wrong with you?” she cries.

“What’s wrong with jeans?”

“They’re stiff and uncomfortable. Wearing jeans all day is basically equivalent to walking on sandpaper. But at least you guys have pockets that will actually hold something larger than a thimble and don’t ride up your ass.”

“If your bra is riding up your ass, we have bigger fish to fry than being afraid of the boogey man.”
