Julie is but a child when events happen beyond her control that turn her into the woman she will become for her adult life. The decisions she makes as a child affect her future, and the way she looks upon the world, and the way the world sees her - as a confident female lead singer in a rock band. A chance interaction with Brennan leads Julie down a path that upsets her and makes her more unwilling to be whi she really is. Only time can help Julie become who she is suppossed to be to accept that she is more than the image she projects to the world.

Wow, what can i say this book caught me off guard. From the title i guessed the story would have to do about the fake confidence that some people project to the world to shield themselves from how people really see themselves. But this book was so much more than that, it starts when Julie is but a girl and events that transpire send ripples out into her life that will affect her for years and how she acts. As she grows up and becomes a successful rock star – with hot rockers in her band 🙂 – she becomes hardened to things like a hard plastic shell to who she really is inside. Then a chance encounter with Brennan and everything Julie knows and wants is thrown on its head and her feelings are having to be felt for the first time in years. Years pass events happen that begin to explain how Julie became who she is, more than we understood at first. This story has creepy sections that made my skin crawl and bits that made my heart ache for Julie and what she was having to deal with and the grown up decisions she has to make. However, there is a big dose of karma and hope in this story, it is not bleak it is full of depth and events that make you think about how you would react to such an event and decision. Alissa Mullen has kicked my feet from under me with this read and i look forward to reading more of her work, and i feel lucky to have have found a new author who has produced a book that hough a romantic story took that genre and made flipped it on its head to produce a fresh new story i have not read for a while.

New Release – A Whole New Crowd by Tijan

A Whole New Crowd
new adult, romance
18th August 2014

Taryn grew up in a different world. Her boyfriend was a criminal. His older brother was part of a gang. They weren't great people, but they were her family. Then everything changes when she's sent to a new family in the neighboring town. New family. New friends. A new world. She's elated. This is her chance for a new beginning, but secrets start being revealed and Taryn learns her new life has some ties to her old one, ties that she's not happy about. Her new family might not have been the lucky break she thought she had.

Then he nodded. “Congratulations.”

“On what?”

“You earned their respect.”

I snorted. “I don’t care.”

“I know.” A smile teased at the corners of his lips. “They saw that too and because of that, they fear you now.”

I have heard so much about this book when i learn who Tijan was as an author. I can tell you after reading my first Tijan book i was like, where has this author been all my life and i am only just hearing of her now?!
So i looked around on facebook and the internet and heard of one of her works called A Whole New Crowd, and i looked on loads of sites like smashwords etc to find this work. Turns out it had been removed as Tijan was making edits to it to re-release on more platforms and i think i am not 100% but plargarism of her work had been occuring. If it was not for A Whole New Crowd it was for another one of her works – either way NOT COOL AT ALL!!!
So now the release date has come around and i have downloaded it, i do not have time to review it at present give me chance, have to work a job to fund my one click addiction, but as soon as i read it i know i will not be able to stop and i will post a review asap.Below i have included an author bio about Tijan

Tijan started writing later in life, after she had already graduated college with a different direction in mind and a different degree under her belt. Hitting the brakes on that path, she taught herself how to write a good book and began posting at sites such as Fictionpress, along with Wattpad. After receiving such encouraging messages from readers, she self-published Fallen Crest High and has continued throughout the year. She continues to keep writing NA books!

Cover reveal – Ace’s Redemption by AC Bextor

Ace's Redemption
Devil's Despair #1
AC Bextor
contemporary romance
October 3rd 2014

Memories alone can ruin you. Fear has a paralyzing effect, and love isn’t always enough to keep you safe.

Ace was the gateway to a freedom I hadn’t known since I was fifteen. He offered his protection from the demons that haunted me; both living and dead.

Although I knew I wasn’t enough to keep him, this didn’t deter my hope that one day he’d love me for who I was, not the broken girl he tried so desperately to save.

In the end, the ghosts of my past found me. Their malevolence knew no bounds, and I was forced to succumb to their will of darkness. Each threat named against those I loved made any escape impossible; choosing my life for theirs became my desolate absolution.

Inevitably, it was my own weakness and self-doubt that became my undoing.

Emotional ties are sometimes severed. Friendships don’t always endure their hardships, and love offered isn’t always returned.

I was in love once. For me, leaving her back in Ohio was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. For her, moving on with her life that included her son and the man she loved was no less than she deserved -- unconditional happiness.

My reasons to bring Cherry home to California were obvious. I needed help with my family, and she needed help staying clean and convincing her parents she was ready to give her son the life he deserved.

It was a perfect plan. However, the best laid plans often get lost amidst their best intentions.

Cherry fell in love with me, and in return my love for her acted as the catalyst to her destruction.
